Trackman 4: Room Requirements & Exact Placement
Trackman · Doppler radar · typical price $19,995 · Updated June 2026
The Trackman 4 is a Doppler-radar unit that sits on the floor 7–9 ft behind the ball, looking down the line of flight. Add the recommended 10–12 ft of ball-to-screen distance and you arrive at the manufacturer's 18–22 ft room-depth recommendation (22 ft is a realistic working minimum with a buffer behind the unit). Keep metal pipes, frames, and rotating fans out of the radar's view — they add noise to spin readings. For indoor accuracy, especially driver spin, use Titleist RCT balls.
