TruGolf APOGEE: Room Requirements & Exact Placement
TruGolf · Instant impact · typical price $8,499 · Updated June 2026
The TruGolf APOGEE mounts to the ceiling 9–10 ft above the floor, positioned 2 ft in front of the tee. Overhead units cost more but solve the two classic floor-unit problems: nothing in the swing path, and both right- and left-handed golfers play without moving anything. Bolt the bracket into a joist (never drywall alone), and coordinate its position with your projector mount — both live on the ceiling centerline. If your ceiling is taller than 10 ft, use a drop pole to bring the unit into its rated window.

Frequently asked questions
How high should the TruGolf APOGEE be mounted?
9 to 10 feet above the floor, 2 ft in front of the tee. Taller ceilings need a drop pole to bring it into range.
What ceiling height do I need for the TruGolf APOGEE?
At least 9 ft. Remember your swing needs roughly 9 ft or more of clearance anyway, so most rooms that fit a full swing also fit this unit.
Does the TruGolf APOGEE work for left-handed golfers?
Yes — overhead mounting covers both handedness without repositioning, which is a key advantage over floor units in shared sims.
